Police Party Attacked During Operation Against Wanted Criminal in Peshawar, Two Attackers Killed

PESHAWAR: A police party came under a severe attack while attempting to apprehend notorious wanted criminal Mumtaz alias Mumtazay in the limits of Shahpur Police Station near Northern Bypass, Peshawar.

According to Peshawar CCPO, the attackers opened heavy fire at the police party and also carried out a hand grenade attack. As a result, two Station House Officers (SHOs) were injured.

The wanted criminal Mumtaz alias Mumtazay was also seriously injured during the attack.

Police responded to the assault, and during the exchange of fire, two attackers were killed.

Soon after the incident was reported, a heavy contingent of police reached the area and cordoned off the site. A search operation is currently underway to locate any other suspects or accomplices involved in the attack.

The CCPO Peshawar said that further details about the incident will be released after the completion of the search operation.

Security has been tightened in the surrounding areas, while police teams are continuing their search and investigation to identify and apprehend other individuals linked to the attack.

Authorities have directed the police to take all necessary measures to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of citizens in the area.
