Security Forces Foil Infiltration Bid, Kill 15 Militants in North Waziristan

NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Security forces have foiled an alleged infiltration attempt from Afghanistan into Pakistan in the Ghulam Khan area of North Waziristan, killing 15 militants, according to security sources.

The sources said security forces launched an operation after receiving intelligence about the movement of a group allegedly attempting to cross the Afghanistan-Pakistan border and enter Pakistani territory.

According to the security sources, the operation resulted in the killing of all 15 members of the group involved in the alleged infiltration attempt.

Following the action, a clearance operation is continuing in the area to search for any remaining militants or possible facilitators.

Ghulam Khan is considered a strategically important area in North Waziristan due to its proximity to the Afghanistan border. Security officials say the area has previously been used by militant groups attempting to enter Pakistan.

The latest operation comes amid continued security concerns along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Security forces have maintained heightened surveillance in sensitive border areas to prevent infiltration and militant activity.

Security sources said the operation reflects the security forces’ resolve to prevent militant infiltration and protect peace and security in the region.

They added that operations against militant elements would continue to ensure the security of the country’s borders and prevent attempts to disrupt peace.
