Ishaq Dar Visits Nepal Embassy, Expresses Sympathy for Flood Victims

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar visited the Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad and expressed condolences and solidarity with the victims of the recent devastating floods and landslides in Nepal.

During his visit, Ishaq Dar conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the families who lost loved ones in the natural disasters and expressed solidarity with the government and people of Nepal. He also offered prayers for those who lost their lives, the speedy recovery of the injured, and the safety of people who remain missing following the floods and landslides.

Ishaq Dar also recorded his condolences in the embassy’s condolence book, expressing Pakistan’s deep sorrow over the loss of lives and widespread damage caused by the disaster.

Speaking on the occasion, the deputy prime minister highlighted the growing impact of climate change on countries across the region. He said climate-related disasters are disproportionately affecting regional countries, causing significant loss of human lives, livelihoods and critical infrastructure.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Nepal’s relief and rehabilitation efforts and said Islamabad was ready to provide all possible assistance to help the country deal with the consequences of the disaster.

The visit reflects Pakistan’s solidarity with Nepal at a time when the country is facing the aftermath of severe flooding and landslides. The Pakistani government has emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in responding to climate-related emergencies and strengthening disaster preparedness.

Ishaq Dar’s expression of support comes as rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts continue in the affected areas of Nepal. The recent floods and landslides have caused significant disruption and highlighted the growing vulnerability of communities across South Asia to extreme weather events.
