KP, Balochistan Operations: 49 Militants Killed, ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Security forces and police have killed 49 militants in a series of intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to ISPR, security forces and police conducted multiple intelligence-based operations in Bannu, North Waziristan, Orakzai and Khyber districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During these operations, 12 militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij were killed.

Security forces also recovered a large quantity of explosives, IED-detonating devices, weapons, ammunition and motorcycles from militant hideouts. The recovered equipment was subsequently destroyed.

In Balochistan, security forces conducted 10 intelligence-based operations in different areas, resulting in the killing of 37 militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan.

The operations were carried out in Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar and Panjgur, where security personnel recovered weapons, explosive drums and remote-detonation devices.

The military’s media wing said the operations were aimed at disrupting militant networks and preventing attempts to undermine peace and stability in the country. According to ISPR, the successful operations dealt a significant blow to militant networks operating in the two provinces.

Following the operations, clearance activities are continuing in the affected areas to locate and eliminate remaining militant elements, ISPR said.

The military further stated that security forces and law-enforcement agencies remain committed to counterterrorism operations across the country. It added that such operations would continue under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative to prevent militant groups from carrying out attacks and destabilising the country.

The latest operations come amid continued security challenges in KP and Balochistan, where security forces have intensified intelligence-based actions against militant networks.
