27 Housing Societies in Peshawar Declared Illegal
PESHAWAR: The Tehsil Shah Alam administration has declared 27 housing societies and private plotting schemes in Peshawar illegal, warning citizens against investing in or purchasing property in the listed projects.
The administration has advised the public to remain cautious and verify the legal status and No Objection Certificate (NOC) of any housing scheme before purchasing a plot or entering into a property transaction.
Officials have also imposed a ban on the sale and purchase of land in the declared illegal housing schemes and urged citizens not to book plots in these projects.
The administration said the illegal schemes include City Residencia, Qurtuba Town, Doctors Colony, Gulistan Colony, Khyber Town, Al-Madina Colony, Babozai Garden, Overseas Colony and Al-Rashid Plotting, among others.
The complete list also includes New Qurtuba Model Town, Old Qurtuba Model Town, Qari Mustaqeem Plotting, Malikabad Colony, Nazim Javed & Maqsood Plotting, Haji Shafaat & Qadeem Plotting, Gulshan-e-Madina Colony, Dr. Ghulam Nabi & Muhammad Amin Plotting, Malik Zahid Plotting, Akbar Associates Plotting, Haji Noor Bashir & Sameen Gul Plotting, Haji Naeem Plotting, Wazir Plotting, Ehtesham, Asad & Dilroz Plotting, Haji Gul Dad & Ejaz Khan Plotting, New Gul Colony, Ayaz Khan Plotting, Aqar Plotting and Fareed Plotting.
Officials warned that investment in unauthorized housing schemes could expose citizens to legal disputes, financial losses and other complications.
The administration stressed that buyers should verify ownership documents, approvals and NOCs from the relevant authorities before making any property investment.
Citizens have been particularly advised not to rely solely on advertisements or promises made by developers and property dealers and to confirm the legal status of a scheme through official channels.
The move comes amid growing concerns over unauthorized housing and plotting schemes in and around Peshawar, where buyers can face significant financial losses if projects lack the required regulatory approvals.
