CM KP Calls High-Level Meeting to Finalize Long March Strategy

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has convened a high-level consultative meeting in Peshawar to review preparations and finalize the strategy for the anti-government long march scheduled for September 27.

The meeting, to be chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, will focus on preparations for the planned protest march toward Islamabad. PTI senators as well as members of the National Assembly and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from the province have been directed to attend the meeting.

According to party sources, the consultative session will discuss organizational arrangements, mobilization of supporters and logistical planning for the long march. The provincial leadership is expected to develop a coordinated strategy to ensure participation from different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Lawmakers may also be assigned specific responsibilities in their respective districts to help organize workers and supporters and coordinate their participation in the planned demonstration. The meeting is expected to provide a roadmap for the party’s provincial leadership ahead of the September 27 protest.

The long march was initially announced by the PTI leadership on August 27, but the date was later set for September 27. The protest is being planned as a demonstration against the federal government, with party leaders calling on supporters to participate in large numbers.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has emphasized the importance of upholding judicial decisions and maintaining political and democratic principles. He has also stated that the provincial leadership is committed to holding a peaceful and historic demonstration in Islamabad.

The meeting comes as the provincial PTI leadership steps up preparations for the protest. Organizers are expected to focus on mobilizing party workers, coordinating transportation and ensuring communication between lawmakers and supporters across the province.
