Gold Prices Fall by Over Rs 11,000 Per Tola in Pakistan
Gold prices decline sharply after trading at record highs in recent sessions
KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan recorded a significant decline on the third day of the business week, with the price of gold falling by more than Rs 11,000 per tola.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold fell by Rs 11,300 per tola, bringing the new rate to Rs 454,036.
The decline was also reflected in the price of 10 grams of gold. The rate for 10 grams decreased by Rs 9,688, settling at Rs 389,262.
The sharp drop comes after gold prices had remained near record levels during recent trading sessions. The latest correction has provided some relief to consumers and traders following the sustained rise in bullion prices.
Market analysts attribute the decline to fluctuations in international gold prices as well as movements in the local currency. Changes in global bullion markets often have a direct impact on domestic gold rates, while exchange-rate fluctuations also influence prices in Pakistan.
Despite the latest decline, gold remains significantly expensive compared with historical price levels, keeping the precious metal an important investment option for many Pakistanis.
Jewellers and market participants are closely monitoring international bullion prices and currency movements to determine the direction of domestic gold rates in the coming sessions. Further changes in global market conditions could lead to additional fluctuations in local prices.
Gold prices are generally influenced by several factors, including international demand, geopolitical developments, interest-rate expectations, the strength of the US dollar and movements in global financial markets.
The latest reduction in Pakistan’s gold prices therefore reflects broader market movements, with investors and consumers continuing to watch both international and domestic indicators closely.
