KP Police Announces Major Transfers and Postings of Senior Officers
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police Department has ordered the immediate transfer and posting of two senior police officers as part of an administrative reshuffle.
According to a notification issued by the Office of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), KP, Shahbaz Ellahi PSP (BS-19) has been transferred from his position as District Police Officer (DPO), Lakki Marwat, and posted as SSP Security, Special Branch, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Meanwhile, Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada PSP (BS-18), who was serving as SSP Security, Special Branch, has been transferred and appointed as DPO Lakki Marwat, replacing Shahbaz Ellahi.
The notification was issued by the Provincial Police Officer, KP, under the powers granted by Section 15(4) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Act, 2017. According to the notification dated August 23, 2026, the transfers and postings have been made in the public interest and will take effect immediately.
Relevant police and administrative authorities have been directed to implement the orders accordingly.
KP Government Announces Major Reshuffle of Senior Officers
The latest police appointments come amid a broader reshuffle of senior provincial officers by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
On August 21, the Establishment and Human Resource Management Department issued separate notifications regarding several transfers, postings and appointments.
According to the notifications, Muhammad Shiraz (PMS, BS-19), who was serving as Additional Secretary in the Science and Technology and Information Technology Department, has been transferred and appointed as the new Director General of the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) with immediate effect.
His appointment follows the removal of former KDA Director General Rehmat Ali (PMS, BS-18), who has been directed to report to the Human Resource Management Department.
Meanwhile, significant changes have also been made in the Fisheries Department following a decision by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Service Tribunal.
Under the new arrangement, Senior Director Fisheries Muhammad Shafi Marwat (BPS-20) has been promoted and appointed as Director General Fisheries, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Former Director General Fisheries Zubair Ali (BPS-20) has been posted as Senior Director Fisheries.
The Establishment and Human Resource Management Department stated that all transfers, postings and appointments will take effect immediately.
