CSS Written Examination Results Announced, Only 476 Out of 17,351 Candidates Pass

The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced the results of the CSS 2026 written examination, with only a small percentage of candidates managing to qualify.

According to the FPSC, the success rate in the CSS 2026 written examination remained at just 2.74 percent.

A total of 17,351 candidates appeared for the written examination, but only 476 candidates successfully passed the exam.

Among the successful candidates, 239 are men and 237 are women, showing an almost equal representation of both genders among those who cleared the written stage.

The CSS examination is considered one of Pakistan’s most competitive examinations, with thousands of candidates appearing each year for a limited number of positions in the country’s civil services.

According to the FPSC, candidates who have successfully cleared the written examination will now proceed to the next stages of the selection process. The schedule for their medical examination, psychological assessment and viva voce will be announced soon.

The results highlight the highly competitive nature of the CSS examination, as only 476 candidates managed to qualify from more than 17,000 participants.

Candidates who qualify for the subsequent stages will undergo further evaluation before the final selection for various occupational groups and services. The final allocation will be made on the basis of merit, preferences, vacancies and the candidates’ overall performance throughout the selection process.

The announcement of the written examination results marks the completion of the first major stage of the CSS 2026 recruitment process, with successful candidates now preparing for the remaining assessments.
