PCB Selection Committee Member Misbah-ul-Haq Decides to Resign

Former Pakistan captain will leave the Pakistan Cricket Board after completing his notice period

Lahore: Misbah-ul-Haq, a member of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee and former Pakistan captain, has decided to resign from his position.

According to sources close to Misbah-ul-Haq, the former captain has decided to step down from the selection committee. However, the exact reasons behind his decision and details regarding the formal submission of his resignation have not yet emerged.

Sources said Misbah-ul-Haq’s notice period will begin soon and that he has already informed the PCB about his notice period. He will leave the selection committee after completing the required period.

Misbah-ul-Haq’s decision comes at a time when questions are being raised over the recent performance of the Pakistan cricket team. During the tour of England, Pakistan’s Test team suffered defeats in two consecutive matches, following which the PCB took several major decisions regarding the team management and players.

The PCB has released seven players from the Pakistan Test squad during the England tour. The players include Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Aamer Jamal, Ali Usman, Owais Zafar and Khurram Shahzad.

The board has also released head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul.

Meanwhile, opening batter Imam-ul-Haq has returned to Pakistan after missing the second Test match due to an injury. Questions have also been raised regarding his injury, and according to sources, he may face an inquiry by the PCB.

Misbah-ul-Haq is regarded as one of Pakistan’s prominent former cricketers. In addition to captaining the national team, he has also served in coaching and selection-related roles.

His decision to leave the selection committee is being viewed as a significant development amid the ongoing changes and challenges within Pakistan cricket.
