NADRA and Federal Board Sign Agreement to Establish Digital Education Record System

Student data will be exchanged, while a digital wallet will provide secure access to educational certificates

Islamabad: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) have signed an important agreement to integrate students’ national identity and educational records.

The agreement is part of NADRA’s initiative to establish a coordinated system for the digital transfer of data with educational boards across the country and the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Under the agreement, a formal mechanism for the exchange of student data between NADRA and the Federal Board has been established.

Under the new system, NADRA will provide the Federal Board with students’ basic information, including their names, father’s names, dates of birth and other relevant details. The initiative will link student registration and educational certificate records with national identity information.

According to officials, integrating the data will help reduce errors during student registration and minimize discrepancies between different records. This will help make educational records more accurate and reliable.

The agreement also aims to improve the issuance of educational certificates based on verified information, which is expected to make administrative procedures easier for educational institutions and relevant government departments.

An important component of the initiative is the establishment of a digital wallet for students. Through the digital wallet, students will be able to securely access their educational certificates and related records digitally.

The initiative is being viewed as an important step towards connecting Pakistan’s educational records with a modern digital system. Linking national identity information with educational records is expected to make certificate verification, student registration and other related processes easier and more transparent in the future.

NADRA’s initiative is also expected to provide a foundation for expanding digital data exchange with other educational boards and the Higher Education Commission across the country.
