KP Govt Announces Transfers of Senior Officers
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has carried out a reshuffle in the provincial bureaucracy, ordering the transfer and posting of senior officers, according to a notification issued by the Human Resource Management Department.
Under the notification, Abdullah, a BPS-19 officer of the Provincial Management Service (PMS), has been transferred from his position as Additional Secretary of the Population Welfare Department.
He has now been posted as Director of the Model Institute for State Children (Zamung Kor), Peshawar. The appointment is expected to bring a new administrative arrangement to the institute, which provides services for children in need of state care.
Meanwhile, Zahid Usman Kakakhel, a BPS-18 PMS officer who was awaiting posting in the Human Resource Management Department, has also been transferred with immediate effect.
He has been appointed as Additional Secretary of the Population Welfare Department, replacing Abdullah.
According to the notification, the transfers and postings were made on the orders of the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will take effect immediately.
The latest reshuffle is part of the provincial government’s ongoing administrative adjustments aimed at ensuring effective management of government departments and assigning officers to key positions according to administrative requirements.
The Population Welfare Department is responsible for implementing various population-related policies and programmes across the province, while Zamung Kor works for the welfare and rehabilitation of children requiring institutional care.
The transfer of senior officers is expected to result in changes to the administrative functioning of both departments. Officials concerned have been directed to comply with the notification and assume their respective responsibilities without delay.
The KP government has recently undertaken several administrative changes involving senior bureaucrats and departmental officials. Such transfers are generally aimed at improving coordination, strengthening institutional performance and ensuring the smooth functioning of provincial departments.
The latest notification also reflects the government’s effort to fill important administrative positions and avoid prolonged vacancies in key departments.
Both officers are expected to take charge of their new assignments immediately, following the instructions issued by the Human Resource Management Department.
The development comes as the KP government continues to review its administrative structure and make changes to senior positions across different departments.
