Islamabad Police Issue Traffic Plan Ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ Procession
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police has issued a special traffic management plan ahead of the central Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ procession, advising citizens to avoid the procession route and use alternative roads to ensure smooth traffic flow.
According to police, the main procession will begin from the Rehmat Community Centre Ground in G-7 and pass through Jamia Masjid Al-Raza, Jamia Masjid Al-Habib in G-7/3 and Street 55. It will then proceed along the service road near Iqbal Hall, Sadr, Melody Chowk and Aabpara before concluding at Soharwardi Sakhi Mahmood Darbar.
Several roads along the route will be diverted during the procession. Traffic from Sitara Market towards Iqbal Hall and Sadr Road will be diverted, while motorists may use the service road near Dak Khana Stop. Traffic coming from the Fire Brigade side has been advised to use Soharwardi Road, Zero Point and Faisal Avenue.
Traffic from Iqbal Hall towards the G-7/3 service road and Raziya Sharif Plaza will also face diversions, with 7th Avenue recommended as an alternative route.
A diversion will also be imposed on Fazal Haq Road from China Chowk towards Kulsum Plaza, while motorists can use Jinnah Avenue. Traffic between Shuhada Chowk, GPO Chowk and Melody-Aabpara Chowk will also be diverted.
Citizens travelling from Zero Point and Rawalpindi have been advised to use 7th Avenue, Faisal Avenue and Srinagar Highway.
Islamabad Traffic Police urged citizens to plan their journeys in advance, cooperate with traffic personnel and follow official traffic updates through its social media platforms and ITP FM 92.4.
