Billions of Rupees Worth of Gold Found Inside Walls During Construction Work in Belgium

Police arrived at the site and took the entire gold hoard into custody

LONDON: Workers renovating a house in East Flanders, Belgium, discovered gold worth billions of rupees hidden inside the walls.

According to a foreign news agency, workers were drilling to install new sewage pipes when they unexpectedly found gold bars and coins inside the walls.

The recovered gold coins and bars are estimated to be worth around €9 million, equivalent to approximately Rs2.89 billion in Pakistani currency.

Police said an 18-year-old student and a worker at the site initially thought they had discovered ordinary coins. However, after finding a gold bar, they realized the true value of the hidden treasure.

Instead of concealing the discovery, the workers immediately informed the police. Site manager Mario and worker Kobe said keeping such a large quantity of gold was not only impossible but could also amount to theft under the law.

Police reached the location, seized all the gold and moved it to a secure place.

Authorities are now investigating the origin and ownership of the treasure and have warned the public against visiting the site in search of more hidden valuables.
