Major Changes Decided in Pakistan Test Team Coaching Staff After Lord’s Test

Following Pakistan’s disappointing performance against England in the Lord’s Test, major changes have been decided in the national Test team’s coaching staff, according to sources.

Sources say current head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul are set to be removed from their Test team positions. White-ball head coach Mike Hesson is likely to take charge of the Test side, while white-ball bowling coach Ashley Nofke is also expected to assume responsibilities with the Test team.

According to sources, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Umar Gul will remain with the team during the England tour. However, the final decision regarding the coaching staff will be taken by the new management, with an official announcement from the Pakistan Cricket Board expected soon.

Meanwhile, major changes are also expected in Pakistan’s squad for the third Test against England. Following the defeat at Lord’s, the national team management held an important meeting to review the team’s performance and discuss changes ahead of the next match.

Sources say wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and opener Imam-ul-Haq are likely to be sent back to Pakistan. Imam-ul-Haq’s calf injury will be re-examined in Lahore, after which a decision will be made regarding his future availability.

Saim Ayub and Irfan Manhas are likely to be added to the squad for the third Test. Fast bowlers Razaullah and Imran Junior have also reportedly been called up to England.

Meanwhile, Ghazi Ghori is expected to be included as wicketkeeper for the Manchester Test.
