Pakistan bowled out for 133 as England dominate final Test

BIRMINGHAM: Pakistan were bowled out for just 133 runs in the final Test of the three-match series against England in Birmingham, putting the hosts in a commanding position.

England captain won the toss and elected to bowl first, with Pakistan opening their innings through Saim Ayub and debutant Azan Awais. However, Pakistan suffered an early setback as Saim Ayub was dismissed without scoring. Azan Awais also failed to make a significant contribution, returning to the pavilion after scoring only nine runs.

Abdullah Shafique managed just three runs before being dismissed by Ollie Robinson, while Pakistan captain Shan Masood fell to Jofra Archer. Babar Azam was also unable to provide stability to the innings, scoring only seven runs before his dismissal.

Saud Shakeel emerged as Pakistan’s top scorer with 43 runs, but wickets continued to fall at regular intervals. Test debutant Ghazi Ghori scored four runs, while Mohammad Abbas made a valuable contribution of 21 runs.

England’s bowling attack remained in control throughout the innings. Josh Tongue was the standout bowler for the hosts, claiming four wickets, while Ollie Robinson and Jofra Archer took three wickets each.

Pakistan made three changes and handed Test debuts to Ghazi Ghori, Razaullah and Imran Randhawa. Saud Shakeel presented Ghazi Ghori with his Test cap, while Mohammad Abbas presented caps to Razaullah and Imran Randhawa. Babar Azam also presented the Test cap to Randhawa.

The disappointing batting performance leaves Pakistan under significant pressure in the final Test. England had already established a 2-0 lead in the three-match series and secured a decisive series victory before the final match.

Pakistan will now need a strong bowling performance to restrict England’s first innings and keep their hopes of avoiding a clean sweep alive. The final Test also provides an opportunity for the three debutants to make an impression at the international level.
