Telemedicine Center to Be Established to Reduce Patient Burden on PIMS

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal directs greater public awareness about free treatment at panel hospitals

Islamabad: Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has announced the establishment of a telemedicine center to reduce the burden of patients on the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

The federal health minister visited PIMS and chaired a meeting where he reviewed progress on fire safety audits and safety measures at government hospitals.

The meeting also reviewed arrangements for improving the cooling system for patients and medical staff at PIMS. The minister directed the hospital administration to ensure an effective HVAC system to provide a better environment for patients and staff.

Mustafa Kamal also directed that an effective HVAC system be ensured at the Children’s Hospital to improve cooling facilities.

The health minister said the establishment of a telemedicine center would provide patients with access to initial medical consultation and help reduce unnecessary pressure on PIMS.

The meeting also discussed increasing public awareness about free treatment facilities at panel hospitals, so that more citizens can benefit from the available healthcare services.

The minister directed hospital authorities to prioritize quality healthcare services along with fire safety, cooling systems and other essential facilities for patients.
