Balochistan holds strategic importance for Pakistan because of its geographical location, natural resources and major economic and infrastructure projects. Maintaining peace in the province is considered essential for development, investment and improving the lives of local communities.

Security forces and law enforcement agencies continue to play a role in addressing security challenges in the region. Cooperation between these institutions and the public is also important for improving security, promoting confidence and supporting long-term stability.

The National Workshop Balochistan is aimed at providing participants with a broader understanding of the province’s social, economic and security-related issues. Such engagements also provide opportunities to discuss challenges facing the province and the role of different stakeholders in its development.

Field Marshal Asim Munir’s interaction with the participants underscored the importance of sustained security efforts and public cooperation in achieving lasting peace. However, the establishment of durable stability also involves addressing wider development needs and strengthening public confidence in institutions.
