LNG Prices Slashed by Up to 27.71% as OGRA Issues New Notification

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a major reduction of up to 27.71% in LNG prices, with the new rates notified for both Sui gas systems.

According to the notification, the LNG price for the Sui Northern system has been reduced by $6.81 per MMBtu, bringing the new price down to $19.03 per MMBtu.

The previous LNG price for the Sui Northern system stood at $25.84 per MMBtu.

Meanwhile, LNG prices for the Sui Southern system have been reduced by $6.95 per MMBtu. Following the reduction, the new price has been set at $18.13 per MMBtu.

The previous price for the Sui Southern system was $25.08 per MMBtu.

The significant reduction in LNG prices is expected to ease the cost of imported gas for the respective systems. The revised prices have been formally notified by OGRA and will apply according to the authority’s notified pricing mechanism.

The reduction comes amid continued changes in international energy prices and LNG procurement costs, which directly influence the pricing of imported gas in Pakistan.

The latest notification provides a substantial reduction compared with the previous rates, particularly for consumers and sectors dependent on LNG supplied through the Sui networks.
