Two University of Peshawar Pakistan Study Centre Teachers Promoted

Dr. Khan Faqir promoted to Associate Professor, while Dr. Tariq Amin promoted to Assistant Professor

Peshawar: Two teachers at the Pakistan Study Centre of the University of Peshawar have been promoted in recognition of their teaching, research and academic services.

In light of the recommendations of the Board of Governors of the Pakistan Study Centre, Dr. Khan Faqir has been promoted to Associate Professor, while Dr. Tariq Amin has been promoted to Assistant Professor.

Dr. Khan Faqir was previously serving as an Assistant Professor at the Pakistan Study Centre. He holds a PhD in History and has more than 18 years of teaching and research experience.

His areas of expertise include Pakistan Studies, political history, constitution-making, governance, and the history of Pakistan’s judicial and legal institutions. His research interests include the evolution of Pakistan’s judiciary, relations between the executive and judiciary, constitutional developments, governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, human rights, and legal and institutional history.

Dr. Khan Faqir has published more than 50 research papers in national and international journals and is also supervising several MPhil and PhD scholars.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tariq Amin, who has been associated with the Pakistan Study Centre as a lecturer since 2015, has also been promoted to Assistant Professor. He has actively contributed to teaching, research and other academic activities at the centre.

Director of the Pakistan Study Centre, Professor Dr. Shahbaz Khan, along with faculty members, administrative staff and students, congratulated both teachers on their promotions.

They expressed hope that Dr. Khan Faqir and Dr. Tariq Amin will continue their teaching and research activities and play an even greater role in the academic and institutional development of the Pakistan Study Centre.
